Madeline earned a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania in May of 2022. Working in software development as a Solution Specialist for a global software consulting firm, she uses both her engineering career and artistic hobbies as outlets for her creativity.

During college, Madeline began learning to macrame. Her original wish was to create a few plant hangers for the many indoor plants she had accumulated while quarantining during the pandemic, but the hobby soon expanded into a wide variety of macrame projects.

  • Using the art form to express her love of retro aesthetics and “indoor nature,” she handcrafts pieces such as plant hangers, wall hangings, shelves, coasters, pillows, keychains, and earrings. Madeline is still exploring new and creative ways to bring the beloved 1960s-70s artform of macrame into the 21st century, particularly through use of vibrant colors, whimsical beaded designs, and functional art that serves a purpose in bohemian-style interior design.

Madeline is an artist at The Foundry Artist Cooperative, 54 Lincoln Way West, in Chambersburg, PA. She lives in Chambersburg, PA with her parents and very adorable dog (whom she will show pictures of to anyone who even remotely expresses interest). Her latest "project" is renovating a hundred-year-old barn into a home -- one which will house many plants in (you guessed it) macrame plant hangers.
