Donna Werling.
Artist Statement -
My art is a release of my emotions brought on by experiencing life as a woman during this challenging time in history. Using acrylic paints on canvas, I paint in the intuitive expressionist style where there is little planning, and the act of creating is considered more important than the piece. During this process, I use color, shape, form, and layering to evoke feelings which may vary depending on the viewer, but should be close to reflecting what I felt while creating it. In this way, my art is meditative as it allows me to process world and societal events.
