An exploration in texture.
Sculptural quilts of botanical subjects.
Realistic to abstract.

After years of fermentation, three once separate parts of my life, macro-photography, quilting and botany; now come together in my fiber art.  Once a traditional flat quilter my work now rises from the surface to taunt the viewer to reach out and touch. I show aspects of the natural world few stop to see, with intense dives into nature from a bee’s eye view or with a more botanical perspective.

In using all materials; recycled designer samples, wire, glass, canvas, traditional quilting fabrics, and liberal use of thread I bring texture to my work. The wall pieces are stretched on canvas to stabilize the weight of the sculptural elements. Some of the work has escaped the wall to become sculptures completing the three-dimensional path I'm on.
